  • On Saturday, in a B2 Epee tournament here at Binghamton ("Binghamton Broken Blade"), I claimed third place.  It was probably my first big tournament, since there were around 38 fencers participating in epee alone (including 21 others competing in foil and 26 more in sabre).  The only tournaments I've participated in sometime in the past years were pretty much local and much smaller.  In addition to claiming third place, I obtained my first rating: C2008.  Ratings range from A, B, C, D, E, and U for Unrated.  At the same time, depending on the participants in the tournaments, a tournament in general is rated differently.  Obviously, from the lack of any prior participation in big tournaments, I was unrated before.  But it was pretty funny how I jumped from being a U to a C2008.

Technically, not really "playing" it yet, since my Wii is all the way back home.  But I did just get the game and I'm itching to start.  Another reason for me to hurry home during the break and begin brawling.  I predict that I won't be doing much except playing this game for the week I'm home...

  • At this point in time:

T-minus 01 day until both my Statistical Methods midterm and Contemporary Chinese Cinemas midterm strike me in the face.

T-minus 02 days until I buy my bus ticket for home.

T-minus 03 days until the Taiwanese American Students Coalition (TASC) Banquet.  I got a damn good seat, so I'm pretty excited about this.

T-minus 05 days until the American release of Super Smash Bros. Brawl.  This also means it'll be approximately 2 to 3 days after that before I get the game in my hands since I put it on speed delivery.

T-minus 11 days until the Binghamton Broken Blade fencing tournament.

T-minus 16 days until I depart for home on my Easter/spring break.

The only things I want out of the way right now are my midterms.  Once those are over, everything else will be wonderful.  Buying my bus ticket will be a happy moment, getting SSBB in my hands will be a great moment as well, attending the TASC Banquet will be a blissful event as well, the fencing tournament will be exciting as well as fun, and of course going home for the break will probably be the best of all.

Hope this month goes through with relative smoothness.

  • I like my extension there...

Happy leap year.  Enjoy it, it'll be four whole years before you get to enjoy another one.
